Project 01

Changchup Choeling Library & Learning Centre

Bridging Ancient Wisdom and Modern Knowledge

Imagine a space where centuries-old Buddhist scriptures sit alongside the latest textbooks in quantum physics. Where debates on philosophy happen in one room while chemistry experiments unfold in another.

This revolutionary academic wing will transform how our nuns learn, preparing them to navigate both timeless Buddhist truths and modern world challenges.

Target Completion: December 2025

Project 02

Gonkhang (Protector Shrine) Restoration

Preserving 332 Years of Sacred Art and Heritage

Our Gonkhang is a living repository of spiritual power and cultural memory. Built on the site where Mahasiddha Hari meditated in the 15th century and blessed by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama.

This sacred shrine houses ancient statues of Chakrasamvara, Hevajra, four-armed Mahakala, the lion-faced Dakini, and the magnificent thousand-armed Avalokiteshvara.

The Urgent Need

  • Ancient murals fading, colors deteriorating
  • Structural cracks threatening integrity
  • Water damage from monsoons and snow melt

Residential Expansion & Infrastructure

Creating Safe, Dignified Homes for Our Nuns

From Barren Land to Flourishing Community

When our eldest nuns first arrived decades ago, there were no proper accommodations—just barren land and makeshift shelters. Today, each nun has two small rooms providing privacy and dignity.

But our work is far from complete.

Urgent Status

Young girls are on a waiting list—we cannot accept them due to space constraints. Winters reach -20°C/-4°F.

Housing

10-15 additional residential units, renovation, improved insulation, solar heating systems

Utilities

Expanded water purification, solar panels for sustainable electricity, backup generators

Communal Facilities

Upgraded kitchen, expanded dining hall, healthcare room, common areas
